This was Lauren’s day – wrapped in beautiful sunshine, throw in a magnificent church, grandest of ballrooms, a Rolls-Royce and you have the fairy tale wedding all girls dream of.  Oh yes, there IS the knight in shinning armour who sweeps the beautiful girl of her feet….careful Kris, them are Jimmy Choos.   The Wedding Day on November 13th 2010 (did I tell you it was 11 degrees celsius…in Toronto…in November?) was perfect in every way.  Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Aiken!!!!

Lauren and Kris we were honoured to photograph your special day, thank you and thank you for becoming our friends in the process.  I will remember your day with the memory of Lauren’s magnificent smile that wouldn’t leave…and Kris I am warmed by the memory of the adoration you hold for Lauren and the wonderful host you were to us and all your guests throughout the day.  I wish you both continued joy in your relationship.  We were glad to be a part of it and hope these images will remind you of the care and commitment you have for each other.  Blessings to you both!

In photographic circles, sometimes wedding photography gets a bad rap for various reasons….I don’t get it, what’s not to like! I stand to say that I LOVE photographing weddings. We are truly privileged and honoured whenever asked to capture a wedding day. In my view there are many rewards, one of which is the opportunity to meet some outstanding people. That’s how we feel about Christy and Neil. In addition, to witness the joy of love, is beautiful! To capture it, may be even more special. Congratulations Mr. & Mrs Mihan. Thankyou….it was an honour.

Yes,  the wedding day finally arrived for Jen and Simon.

I play ball….that is baseball with Jen.  I’m used to seeing her in a yellow shirt, black  pants, hair tied up … sprinkle on some dust …. well you get the picture … NOT.  Jen is always beautiful, but on this day she was stunning.  Pictures do tell a story.  If you will look closely, you will see a tear in her Father’s eyes as he’s walking his daughter down the aisle.  Just as beautiful are the tears in Simon’s eyes as he receives her and as he puts it, “for the rest of my life!”   End of Story.

Congrats you two.  We had a fun day capturing your beautiful moments.  We were honoured to have been asked to photograph this slice of the rest of your lives. May God Bless you and may you walk in His peace.

As I reflect on the images you will find posted here there are things that come to mind.  Amy’s joy and beautiful smile.  Tommy’s adoration for her.  But prevailing on a personal level is the opportunity I…Barb and I had in getting to know these two individuals over the last two months.  It has been an absolute pleasure to shoot them first at their engagement session in the ever so cool Distillery District in Toronto and then as they made their vows on Labour Day 2010.   Love is a beautiful thing and I am honoured to witness it and to capture it.  Congrats to you both Amy and Tommy!  It was an honour to be asked and to have spent the time with you in capturing your special relationship.  Best Wishes…in God may you trust!
