Lauren and KrisEngagement Shoot, Toronto, Ontario

FIELD OF DREAMS. I had a unique opportunity to shoot on the field at the Rogers Centre (home of the CFL Toronto Argonauts). It was there that Lauren and Kris met. She the cheerleader … he the football player … they met … field of dreams. Not only do both Lauren and Kris sport Grey Cup Championship rings, but soon, they will wear wedding rings. I am privileged to have been asked to shoot their special day and celebration in November. Barb and I had a wonderful time shooting their engagement session and getting to know them both. We started our session with a return at the place where it all began, the Rogers Centre. From there we strolled through the neighbourhood that is known as “the Beaches”. A wonderful community of parks, shops and dining along the beach, east of downtown. Take a moment and view the SLIDESHOW. A summer evening with Christy and NeilEngagement Shoot – Toronto, Ontario

The city of Toronto has much to offer and so many spectacular views. On this night, a beautiful summer evening, my camera and I had the pleasure of getting to know Christy and Neil. Neil had scouted out the locations that were dear to them both for their engagement shoot. Christy and Neil will marry in September and I am truly honoured that they have asked me to shoot their Wedding Day. On our journey that evening, we had the chance to shoot on the Dufferin Bridge with the CN Tower in it’s background. It was there that Neil asked Christy to spend the rest of their lives together. My best wishes to them both as they look forward to September. See you in the fall!

Louis & GabrielleEngagement Shoot in Quebec City, Quebec

It was an honour to be invited by Louis to attend his wedding and even more a pleasure to shoot their special relationship. A beautiful couple in a world class city. Quebec City is Europe in North America. If you’ve never been, then this wonderful city needs to go on your bucket list to visit one day. But this post is not about real estate, but rather a catalogue of a wonderful relationship that is Louis and Gabrielle. Barb and I were so thrilled to hear that Louis had found love. We knew this person, yet unmet, would have to be special. Gabrielle, indeed, is special in every way. We are thrilled for them both. Here are some highlights from our walk through Quebec City on a beautiful May evening. Special thanks go to our dear friends Nancy and Eric who assisted with this shoot and in translation.

Iris and MikeEngagement Shoot in Victoria Park, Kitchener, Ontario

This engagement shoot was a long time in the making. But we did it AND we got an absolutely perfect day (in November, in Canada…yeah for global warming). Iris and Mike make a beautiful couple. May 1st 2010 is going to be a party. I can’t wait. Congratulations you two! May May come quickly!!!!

Jen & SimonEngagement shoot in Kitchener and Elora, Ontario

I am finding that engagement shoots are an important element in the Wedding Day planning cycle. From a photographer’s point of view it gives us a chance to learn about the couple which can help us on their wedding day shoot. What I am discovering however, is that it’s not the technical things I learn that matter most…what matters, is the opportunity for us to get to know one another. I have known Jen for sometime. Her family attends the church I serve and we play on the same softball team. But in addition to learning more about Jen, our time together has given me an opportunity to know Simon. Simon is a warm, gentle soul. Jen and Simon make an absolute great couple. I’m thrilled for Jen, but ultimately, I’m sooo happy for them both that they found each other. Congrats you two! I’ll be waiting in anticipation alongside of you for September 2010 to roll in.
