Christmas Concert 2008

December 26, 2008

Well it’s over.  After many months of preparation and build up we can now put the concert titled “The Promise” behind us.  By the reviews, emails, letters and many comments it is evident that the words and music moved many.   There is no doubt that God was with us during the preparation and presentation.  To lead this group of musicians was an honor and a very humbling experience.  In His service!  Here are a few photo highlights.

My daughter Sydney, seen here, singing “What can I give Him? ” Having her participate and witness in this manner was a touching moment for all, especially the dude standing on the podium.

Where is Ray?

December 2, 2008

It’s been a while since I’ve posted and I’m receiving personal emails saying, “Where are you?”   So I thought I’d answer the call.   If you don’t know, my first love is music.  Academically trained, I graduated with a performance degree in Conducting and minored in piano and voice.  Not necessarily the path to an emerging photographer….but it is the arts.  Each fall for the last 6 now I am deeply involved in a project we now call “The Christmas Cantata” in these parts of the woods…lol.  As Director of Music of Historic St. Paul’s here in Kitchener, Ontario it is my honour to lead this Christmas Musical presentation a call to my love for my God and to my love for music.   It is a thrill to conduct the 90 voice choir, along with local solo artists and the Kitchener Waterloo Symphony Orchestra.  We host our event in The Centre in the Square one Canada’s premier concert halls and as of this morning we are “sold out” for both nights representing 3400 tickets.  So if you are wondering where I’ve been….well it’s a little busy around these parts.  Here are two pictures for your view, both loves of my life.  The first picture is of our Christmas 2007 program (that’s me on the podium) the later, is my wife Barb for those of you who have yet to meet her.  See you after the concerts (Dec. 14 & 15).

That's me waiving the "stick".
